Paragraph 1. God hath decreed in himself, from all eternity, by the most wise and holy counsel of His own will, freely and unchangeably, all things, whatsoever comes to pass;1 yet so as thereby is God neither the author of sin nor hath fellowship with any therein;2 nor is violence offered to the will of the creature, nor yet is the liberty or contingency of second causes taken away, but rather established;3 in which appears His wisdom in disposing all things, and power and faithfulness in accomplishing His decree.4 1. Isa. 46:10; Eph. 1:11; Heb. 6:17; Rom. 9:15,18 2. James 1:13; 1 John 1:5 3. Acts 4:27,28; John 19:11 4. Num. 23:19; Eph. 1:3-5

Ideologically possessed people will accept a systematic complex of ideas that are self-contradictory, and they will be blind to the contradictions. They will only see information as salient that agrees with their ideology. All contradictory evidence will be ignored, avoided, or a post hoc rationalization will be invented to “explain away” the contradiction. Cognitive dissonance -when a person holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas or values, or participates in an action that goes against one of these three. 2 Timothy 2:24–26 (KJV) 24And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Dissonance: committing fornication is obviously NOT the will of God while the LBC1689 ch3 says that everything that comes to pass is decreed by the will of God. What will you do?

A. Modify the paradigm to include the concept that some things are not the will of God in order to align with scripture.

B. Invent a post hoc rationalization to make this text “mean” or “teach” something other than what it plainly says.

Calvinism Delusion: There are two wills of God. Decretive and Preceptive.
What is the motivation to say that God decreed something that scripture doesn’t tell us God decreed? -External teaching? -Systematic theology? -Paradigmatic thinking? (Where do I come to the place that says God decreed all things?) (By what means to I come to add to my list of propositions the concept that God decreed things that scripture doesn’t say God decreed?) (Why the hang-up with the word “decree”?
Why is the concept that God decreed all things assumed as default prior to approaching scripture? (show me where is says he didn’t decree) -text-book eisegesis -we should not add something to our list of considerations/assumptions/etc… unless it is explicitly stated. This is the position of humility where we let God tell us instead of us telling God.

Why Did He Have to Die?

Why Did He Have to Die? All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. –Isaiah 53:6 This verse opens with “all we like sheep have gone astray,” and it closes with “the Lord has laid […]

It Is Finished…

He preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection . . . And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given […]

For by grace are ye saved…..

The simplicity of the Gospel. People and false teachers have complicated what God made so easy a child could understand. When you finally understand Gods grace and that understanding goes from your head to your heart, His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Unknowingly I was carrying a burden of a type of […]

Can you be a “Christian Freemason?”

In the last year I have come across a growing number of people bearing the name Christian and at the same time accepting active freemasonry within the same breath. My hope with this blog is to provide the reader with intelligent, organized, and biblical information in order to measure the teachings of freemasonry against the […]

When what you’re reading in your Bible and what is coming from the pulpits aren’t aligning.

“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” 2 Corinthians 11:4 As unsettling changes take place in your Christian environment, you might find yourself in […]

The gospel of accommodation……….

The gospel of accommodation is to change, appease, pacify the masses with a message that sounds close enough to the truth perhaps close enough to get into heaven. Why do we do this? Because the true message of the cross confronts us convicts us and demands an answer…. “Choose this day whom you will serve.” […]

What must I do to be saved?

Today is the Day for Salvation, tomorrow is not guaranteed, do not let your hearts be hardened. Paul declares that “the gospel of Christ…is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes” (Rom:1:16) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one […]

Once indoctrinated ….. but now free.

Religious indoctrination, the original sense of indoctrination, refers to a process of imparting doctrine in an authoritative way, as in catechism.  I am certain my parents were doing what they thought was best, doing what their parents taught them, and what their parents, parents taught them and so on and so on, handing down a set of cultural and […]

The Shack is theology wrapped in a story.

I personally know many ‘pastors’ and ‘leaders’ who have embraced this book (movie) The Shack and actually continue to promote it to their congregations. I hope this authors newer work will open peoples eyes who have been seduced by The Shack and it’s universalist author Paul Young. Especially the leaders who should be protecting the […]

The Emerging Church….. and its sympathizers.

There is an elephant in the room.. it’s called the “Emergent/Emerging Church” (Postmodernism/Emergent-Liberalism)…. what is it? It is deception by reidentification is what it is. “Hath God said” …. Genesis 3:1 The emergent church – we have some ‘leaders’ in that. Just a few here: Rick Warren Dallas Willard Dan Kimball Andy Stanley All of […]

How to recognize error in the churches.

How to recognize error in the churches.

The only way to know what is counterfeit is to know what is true. You may have heard the analogy that bank tellers are taught what true bills look like so when they come across a counterfeit they can identify it more easily.

Friends I am all for people educating themselves and reading information. But I urge you be sure to be diligently reading the Word of God above all.

The Apostle Paul admonished and warned because he loved the people of God and saw warning, admonishing, and rebuking as a means of protecting the church.  He did not hesitate to do it boldly, he did not cut any corners and he was firm about the truth.

Exposing Error: Is it Worthwhile?

By Dr. Harry Ironside

“Objection is often raised even by some sound in the faith-regarding the exposure of error as being entirely negative and of no real edification. Of late, the hue and cry has been against any and all negative teaching. But the brethren who assume this attitude forget that a large part of the New Testament, both of the teaching of our blessed Lord Himself and the writings of the apostles, is made up of this very character of ministry-namely, showing the Satanic origin and, therefore, the unsettling results of the propagation of erroneous systems which Peter, in his second epistle, so definitely refers to as “damnable heresies.”

Our Lord prophesied, “Many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” Within our own day, how many false prophets have risen; and oh, how many are the deceived! Paul predicted, “I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch.” My own observation is that these “grievous wolves,” alone and in packs, are not sparing even the most favoured flocks. Undershepherds in these “perilous times” will do well to note the apostle’s warning: “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers.” It is as important in these days as in Paul’s-in fact, it is increasingly important-to expose the many types of false teaching that, on every hand, abound more and more.

We are called upon to “contend earnestly for the faith once for all delivered to the saints,” while we hold the truth in love. The faith means the whole body of revealed truth, and to contend for all of God’s truth necessitates some negative teaching. The choice is not left with us. Jude said he preferred a different, a pleasanter theme-“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ” (Jude 3, 4). Paul likewise admonishes us to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” (Ephesians 5:11).

This does not imply harsh treatment of those entrapped by error-quite the opposite. If it be objected that exposure to error necessitates unkind reflection upon others who do not see as we do, our answer is: it has always been the duty of every loyal servant of Christ to warn against any teaching that would make Him less precious or cast reflection upon His finished redemptive work and the all-sufficiency of His present service as our great High Priest and Advocate.

Every system of teaching can be judged by what it sets forth as to these fundamental truths of the faith. “What think ye of Christ?” is still the true test of every creed. The Christ of the Bible is certainly not the Christ of any false “-ism.” Each of the cults has its hideous caricature of our lovely Lord.

Let us who have been redeemed at the cost of His precious blood be “good soldiers of Jesus Christ.” As the battle against the forces of evil waxes ever more hot, we have need for God-given valour.

There is constant temptation to compromise. “Let us go forth therefore unto Him without the camp, bearing His reproach.” It is always right to stand firmly for what God has revealed concerning His blessed Son’s person and work. The “father of lies” deals in half-truths and specializes in most subtle fallacies concerning the Lord Jesus, our sole and sufficient Savior.

Error is like leaven of which we read, “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.” Truth mixed with error is equivalent to all error, except that it is more innocent looking and, therefore, more dangerous. God hates such a mixture! Any error, or any truth-and-error mixture, calls for definite exposure and repudiation. To condone such is to be unfaithful to God and His Word and treacherous to imperiled souls for whom Christ died.

Exposing error is most unpopular work. But from every true standpoint it is worthwhile work. To our Savior, it means that He receives from us, His blood-bought ones, the loyalty that is His due. To ourselves, if we consider “the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt,” it ensures future reward, a thousand-fold. And to souls “caught in the snare of the fowler”-how many of them God only knows-it may mean light and life, abundant and everlasting.”

Why I can no longer support The Berean Call Ministry

Why I can no longer support The Berean Call Ministry

For by grace are ye saved…..

For by grace are ye saved…..

The simplicity of the Gospel. People and false teachers have complicated what God made so easy a child could understand. When you finally understand Gods grace and that understanding goes from your head to your heart, His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Unknowingly I was carrying a burden of a type of works salvation. Some of it came from my lack of understanding and some came from other Christians who would constantly criticize people and how they lived, or how they thought people ‘ought’ to live according to them.

When people don’t look like you, talk like you, pray as you do, read the bible as you do, serve their community, attend church like you do…etc. etc. when you start placing those “ought too” onto people you are now (even inadvertently) a stumbling block and pushing a works salvation.

Understanding justification and sanctification. Because I have repented (changed my mind) and trusted in Jesus Christs work for salvation; I am justified. That (justification) is a one time and only one time eternal position. I no longer stand condemned before God because of what Christ has done and completed fully for anyone who will appropriate His sacrifice.

What you do with the life God gives you each day, you have a choice in that as well. His will is that you will serve Him, but even if you do not, that does not change the truth that you have been justified and Christ paid the debt you owed; He alone and not any merit of our own is what saves us.

When your son or daughter is rebellious and does not do what you would like them too it doesn’t change the (positional) truth that they are still your children. Likewise, once a person has believed Christ alone for their salvation, and you are now a child of God, you can run away and have all the temper tantrums you want, it still doesn’t change the positional truth that you are a child of God.

Many false teachings promote a works salvation (performance based) and I was wrapped up in those teachings and it’s exhausting. Any flaws, misteps, and sin I have each day is just another reminder to me just how much I need Christ. I hope you will take the time to watch the video and be set free from burdens you may be carrying and if you haven’t trusted Christ for your eternity, that you would do that today.
