Saved in a cult and being a spiritual whistle-blower.

Saved in a cult and being a spiritual whistle-blower.

Before I jump into a heavy topic like spiritual abuse I want to be sure to clarify that these blogs are written with the hope that things mentioned (much of which is personal experience not just a random railing against people) would cause people to draw closer to Christ and for people who are not saved, that they would truly begin to ponder their eternities. I am just as wretched as the one who is an enemy of God. Apart from Christ we are all at enmity with God. I am no better of a person than someone who chooses to remain separated from God. I want to make sure this is well understood by the reader as I understand some of my blogs can appear quite harsh at times. The biblical model of Christ Himself and the Apostle Pauls words and actions were very harsh and they did not mince words when it came to the purity of the gospel and contending for the faith against wolves and false teaching. I do not speak these things as if I am “holier than thou” no very much the opposite and very much the reason I need Jesus daily in my life. If someone says they have no sin they are a liar and the truth is not in them. I write about my journey in Christ in real time, raw occurrences, and real experiences. Nevertheless these instances only serve to draw me closer to Christ and cause me to see the reality of my dependence on Him, and Him alone.

If people are fortunate enough to have access to an uncompromised bible believing/teaching church I would say praise the LORD as this is quite the rarity. It’s becoming more rare as the days go on. I want to be clear when I say compromise — I am not speaking of peripheral issues, like music tastes or the curriculum, the color of church walls, to tithe or not to tithe, to have a church membership list or not, to how many elders should a church have or not, etc. I am speaking about essential fundamental teachings that if these essentials are compromised, then you are believing a different gospel that cannot and will not save you. Some examples of a different gospel (s) can be found here, here, here, and here. The Gospel of Salvation is the only one that can save your soul and can be found here.

Now onto the topic of spiritual abuse. When you find yourself speaking up and standing for truth within your “own” just know you will be shunned. Also know, you are not alone. Spiritual abuse is real and it is not new it’s just wearing new more sophisticated masks. Remember the prophets own people killed them. Spiritual abuse is much like a sexual predator they don’t come right out and scream hey—- rather they will groom you. The “love bombing” and “flattery” will pour into your life that is until you speak up about serious doctrinal issues.

Love bombing and flattery” are probably the top two tactics used by people (people in spiritual leadership positions) other tactics such as withholding attention, affection, and outright threatening / intimidation generally occur after a person begins to ask too many questions. The retaliation against the “spiritual whistle-blower” with things of spiritual nature mimics the same within the secular world. This is very much like a grooming process that a sexual predator uses. So why are people who bear the name of Christ doing such things? Well, according to scripture we are to crucify our flesh and much of this is fleshly prideful behavior and sinful works of the flesh according to scripture. Then, as I’ve mentioned before we will talk about “heaven and God” but we are reluctant, afraid, or even unaware of the very real spiritual warfare and enemy we have. The very one Jesus Christ defeated. The very one who is after our souls of every human life. The father of lies who will do anything and everything to convince you Jesus Christ isn’t real, and should you realize Jesus is real, satan will surely try to find a way to have you believe in another jesus, or attempt to keep a true believer paralyzed and inoperative.

Leaders will threaten the sheep that God will kill you and your family or strike you with sickness if you speak up about false teaching. One of the most misused scripture with spiritual abuse is “touch not Gods anointed!”

See my blog here about: “Exposing Error, is it worthwhile?”

Questionnaire- here: now obviously no man made “formula” can determine what is or isn’t happening in your life. These are just pieces to consider if you are experiencing these things — and if you are I urge you to seek the Lord in prayer and measure your experiences to the Word of God.

I truly thank the Lord for protecting me through my stumbling in and out of cults and cultic atmospheres. Already just using that word cult — raises the hair on the back of most peoples necks. And I get it, I really do, and I also “get” that cults are real they existed in biblical times and exist now. In the day and hour in which we live this is not the time to become ostriches. This is not the time to put blinders on and just “wait for it to all work out.” No…. No…..No…. to the church, WAKE UP!

I actually responded to Christ while in a cult church. This church was small, in a small farm town everyone knew everyone– and everyone knew the “pastors” of this church. The church was eventually shut down and on the news while the pastors had a stand off with the police. Harems of women at the married pastors house, allegations of suspected child abuse, and more. I want to pause here and say, so I responded to Christ while (unknowingly) in a cult church so am I not saved? Do I have to find some “real” pastor or “man of God” or a “prophet or apostle” to get “resaved”? Like I have to do a “redo” of calling out to Christ because the leaders were false teachers?

The answer to all of the above is a resounding no. Why? Because Salvation is not contingent upon a third party, a person, a pastor, church attendance, works, a “holy persons” presence etc. Salvation is a gift from God to be received. No man can give it to you, no man can help you earn it, no man can take what God has given away because salvation does not come from man or the law it is a gift from God alone.

I also was on the fray of WOF/NAR movements not realizing that this is a different gospel (s). I was attending a church and while this concept of reading the bible is becoming a foreign one, I was reading the Word of God as I was attending. I was being a good obedient Christian and “doing whatever I was told” not questioning it. I was even tithing out of fear because I was told God would curse me and I would be excluded from things if I didn’t. SO….I didn’t want to be cursed by God!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will stop here and this hot button topic would take a whole series of blogs to speak about tithing but I will leave this short video here to help some folks who may be tithing under compulsion which is definitively not what God wants. God does not need money. As time went on, and I was praying and reading scripture on my own, I was realizing that what I was hearing from the pulpit was not what I was reading in scripture and it was a perversion of Scripture. And by the Spirit of God, The Holy Spirit just nagged me with discomfort about this church and the teachings. It was not merely a “different way of worshiping” or “minor peripheral issues” no this was a completely different Jesus. Only later while journeying through another abhorrent system would I understand “it” to have a name. Needless to say I left that church and never returned. I would like to pause here as well and say to the “pastors” out there who are so quick to paint everyone with a broad brush in the sense of “church hoppers” a derogatory label as I (and others who dare leave a church for another one) would come to have. Perhaps just perhaps a sheep is searching other pasture because they have spotted wolves in the one they came from, as scripture describes it would be. Pastors ought to be focused on protecting the flock of God, that is after all what a shepherd does, unless of course he is a hireling as Jesus describes.

I then found myself at a quaint church and decided to go to a mid week service. I remember walking in and discreetly sitting in the middle outer row. I heard the words “please open to Romans 5:1 we are talking about justification tonight.” I wanted to leap out of the chair I was so excited! I was so….so…. so ….excited to FINALLY hear the Gospel and about Jesus! I thought this is it …..finally I have found a Christ centered church! My whole being by this point literally ached to hear about the one who died for me! I hadn’t heard about Jesus from the pulpit in such a long time. I wanted to get involved with things and be a part of the family of God that I had finally found. I really wanted to be a part of ministries that helped spread the Gospel. I am by no means an evangelist, I do share my testimony and speak to people one on one when the Lord gives me the opportunity. I wanted (and still desire) to see people saved and coming to Christ. In my new found emotional excitement, I somewhere along the way stopped discerning and testing all things and it took a little while to realize Jesus was no longer being mentioned. He was being sprinkled on and around things like a condiment but that same nagging from the Holy Spirit started again. Especially after I brought a friend to a Sunday service and he pointed out “The pastor hasn’t mentioned Jesus, is it always that way?” It was that moment that my broken antenna was quickly restored and I once again started paying attention beyond what the eyes can see. I was praying and asking for wisdom and discernment, and well, the Lord opened my eyes. The altruistic ministries were very sweet and random acts of kindness are sweet too. The leaving Jesus out was “good” for the false unity of ecumenism if you want to toss out everything God has said and follow the false peace that is coming by way of false unity as scripture accurately predicts in the end times. I was faced with a choice of following Christ or man. We ALL are faced with that choice and most choose to follow man and the tradition of the elders.

The random acts of kindness make us feel good, the feeding the homeless makes us feel like we did a good deed. All the while God calls these self righteous acts “filthy rags” and anyone with access to the internet can look up what God means by a filthy rag it’s quite descriptive and for people with weak stomachs even more so. People within a works based mode of salvation will say and partially quote from the book James “faith without works is dead!” Once again, the context of James needs to be read and also God tells us exactly what good works are in James 1:27 “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

Now, it’s a beautiful thing to house a widow or feed an orphanage of children. SO LONG as we are also feeding them spiritual food. It is a “filthy rag” to send a person to hell with a full belly. Widows are without a bridegroom and orphans are without a father. Jesus is described according to scripture as our bridegroom and we are according to scripture by the spirit of adoption no longer orphans. The point is (everyone) widows and orphans need to hear the Gospel, more than they need a hot plate of macaroni and cheese. They need the eternal Bread of Life more than a buttered dinner roll. We cannot rely on our altruistic methods to save us as sweet and kind as these works are, they are not what save you and a hot meal won’t save an orphan. This is what’s called the social gospel and it is a gospel that cannot save. It is a gospel that offers false assurance of salvation.

God is explicitly clear about exposing false teachers and He is equally clear when a person knows the truth but continues to partake in unfruitful works of darkness. The choice one needs to make is choose this day whom you will serve. I choose to serve the Lord and continue to pray for those I have come across who are leading Gods people astray. I also pray for the sheep to hear Gods voice THE Good Shepherd and not listen to a stranger.

Many folks will look upon exposing false teaching unfavorably. Interestingly enough usually the people who frown upon a blog like this are the very false teachers this blog speaks of. They will call me a “heresy hunter” or a “witch hunt” when in fact all I am doing is talking about my own life and it just so happens false teaching has been all I have encountered. Or other people have skipped a huge portion of Scripture and the travails of the Apostle Paul, the book of Jude, and Christ Himself which speaks of  false prophets and the commanding by God to expose such falsities, mark and avoid such people teaching such heresies, and the command from God to divide from those who persist in unrepentant false teaching. Then the next group would be unbelievers people who passively sit by committing spiritual suicide by “not making any decision” ….no decision is a decision, and unlike The Shacks theology —this is reality and all roads do not lead to heaven.

You see over many years Jesus has been reduced to a “pot smokin’ sandle wearing hippie” where “ all ya need is love dude!” and everything will just all work out. Or Jesus is reduced to a perpetual baby when actually He is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding on our behalf. And when He returns, and He is coming, He is not a baby, He is The King– there is no other. And every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess. We truly have fashioned gods after our own liking, the question is to examine yourself to see if you’re in the Faith. This examination of being in the Faith (once and for all delivered to the saints) is also a large part of James (“faith without works is dead”) tongue and cheek meaning are you in the Faith to begin with. Are you?

The masks we wear and the outward condition.

The masks we wear and the outward condition.

While we all have a different journey (and story) to the Lord there is only one way to be reconciled back to God. My outward condition was open for all to see clearly that I needed help and my inward condition was equally corrupt I was decaying from the inside out.  I was reaching the end of myself and I would end up on my knees crying out to this Jesus I had heard of so many times.

I knew I just couldn’t keep working my way through life anymore. I was exhausted, hungry, and lost. This time, the exhaustion, hunger, and wandering wasn’t physical.  I had tried everything I knew to “get better” and nothing worked.  This time, I called out to Him for real, meaning it and desiring Him to save me from this life I had lived.  Knowing that He alone a gift of grace from God, received by faith and faith alone to be justified by Jesus Christ and be reconciled back to my Creator, my Heavenly Father, a gift none of us deserve. I would eventually come to respond to Jesus Christ but my journey to Him was still a long road to travel.  It wasn’t God who was distant from me; I kept my distance from Him. He is not hard to find. He is a very present help in times of trouble. I just thought I could figure this all out on my own.

We think we can try hard enough, and have enough “fortitude” and “push through” in our own strength.  I would come to know and understand, apart from Him, I can do nothing. Apart from Him I would continue to find myself in valleys and going around mountains of destruction over and over again. Everything man and the world had to offer had failed to “change” me. All the psychology, psychiatrists, mental tests, and human science modalities had proven over and over again to bear no fruitfulness in my life.  If there had been any change it was very temporary never able to sustain real transformation.  To date, these same modalities would not be what finally did bring about a true everlasting change.

To realize that I can do nothing to earn, keep, or work for salvation is both a relief and humbling at the same time. To recognize that I was (we all are) born spiritually dead and in sin and the only way to God is to be spiritually reborn (John 3:3).  Jesus says “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

Many people struggle through religion, rituals, tradition, self-atonement, works of the Law, and none of those things will reconcile a person back to God.  Jesus Christ had many things to say regarding the “Law keepers” of His day.  Jesus says Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead peoples bones and all uncleanliness.” I knew I needed help the only help that can truly change a person is found in Jesus Christ alone and his finished work on the cross. Sadly, many people and religion have a form of holiness, morality, and altruism, but none of it has the power to save a soul.

What is the Gospel?

Trusting God Through It All

“But I’m a good person”…are you, am I, according to whom?

“But I’m a good person”…are you, am I, according to whom?

I often ponder why we do not think about our only two choices once we leave this earthly vessel.

  • Is it we are too busy?
  • We just don’t care?
  • Is it too frightening?
  • We simply think I live a “good” life surely that counts for something?

I can only speak for myself as to why I never thought of my eternal destination and it was because I was “living my best life now” and didn’t care about what would happen once I died.  I would just figure it out when I got closer to it all. Or perhaps I would just implode into “nothing” and that is a very comforting delusion to tell ourselves, as is the delusion of some place in between for a second chance or “working” it off before heaven somehow. I can say now, as I continue on this pilgrimage through the world, that God is much less concerned about us “living our best life now, or being the best versions of ourselves” things I hear both from the secular world and those saying such in the Name of Christ, or under the guise of Christianity.

The above very popular clichés are just that, clichés, they still focus on self, (me, me, me, me) which is the very antithesis of the message of the Cross of Jesus.  In Luke 9:23 Jesus says “If anyone desires to follow Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

This putting off coming to the Lord is not unique to me.  Jesus spoke of this very issue explicitly and quite clearly in The Gospel of Matthew chapter 8-9 (including many other places and examples in the Word of God). In Matthew chapter 8 we see our human condition of wanting what we want, how we want it, and at the same time wanting the “benefits” of heaven.  In this chapter and leading up to it Jesus had already healed people and people were marveled at His teaching and the multitudes followed Him.

Only a handful were actually following Him in THE Way He is to be followed. Most were simply following Him for “what they could get out of it” versus truly understanding their spiritual condition and the need to know Him. Jesus says something in Matthew 8:22 that seems so cruel at first glance. (But Jesus said to him, Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”) Jesus responded to a man who seemed to want to follow Him, BUT…the man had things to do first.  We all make excuses, plan our lives and when we are ready then we might choose Him.

Most of the time, we choose a version of “jesus” that fits our life, our way, our traditions, our culture, a version that is comfortable. “A jesus” on our own terms, in which we can still control how we do things; but these different versions of Jesus Christ sadly will not save your soul.  The Scriptures tell us this very thing that we will (and do) happily accept another jesus, another spirit and another gospel. 2 Corinthians 11:4 “For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” If a false christ, a false gospel were not possible, scripture wouldn’t warn over and over and over again that it is in fact so. Jesus wouldn’t emphatically warn to take care you are not deceived if deception were not so.

As a nurse working in an emergency room I see people die every day. At one time I would find some odd coping mechanism to deal with seeing death on a regular basis. Now, when I see a dead body rolling to the hospital morgue I am overwhelmed with utter despair and grief.  That despair and grief is not for the family of the loved one they just lost, rather for the one that is dead, and I ruminate and cry to the Lord in tears with only one cry…Lord did they KNOW You? Did they know Jesus Christ of Nazareth or did they follow another jesus, another spirit, another gospel?

That question that takes my breath away in my spirit is overwhelming. It is overwhelming because of the reality of such a question. We will spend more time picking out what we are going to wear for the day, what meal we are going to cook one evening, what things need to be done around the house, or when we need our hair done next than we do our very real eternities.

“But I am a good person”

Are you?

Am I?

According to whom?

Perhaps you think that God is good, and will therefore overlook your sins. But it is His goodness, that will make sure that murderers, rapists, adulterers, thieves, blasphemers, liars, etc. receive justice. He would be a corrupt Judge if He turned a blind eye to injustice.

If a convicted murderer were standing in a courtroom before a judge, and the judge just simply let him go free, no jail time, no probation, no fines…. just free, we would have a meltdown because “justice wasn’t served”  ….The reality is… we are all murderers, rapists, thieves, adulterers, liars, blasphemers etc. Nothing but Christs sacrifice can acquit us of our guilty verdict before a holy God.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Our lives are but a vapor that appears for a short time and then vanishes away.

Romans 5:19-21

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 3

God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood–to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished–So we are made right (justified) with God through faith and not by obeying the law. Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith.

How many gods do you actually believe in?

How many gods do you actually believe in?

Whether it’s 330 (33 million, or ’just’ 33 depending on the hindu source) million ‘gods’ in hinduism or the 10,000 in rome — the point is that polytheism is polytheism.

Although if you were to ask a hindu if they were polytheistic, they would likely respond with a ‘no’, as would most people who follow the teachings of rome. Neither party would ‘consider’ themselves polytheistic — but they are, in actions.

Prayer is defined in its most basic form as an invocation or act that seeks to activate a rapport with an object of worship through deliberate communication.

In the narrow sense, the term refers to an act of supplication or intercession directed towards a deity (a god). When praying to a ‘god’ (‘saints’, ‘dead relatives’, ’spirits’ etc) other than GOD the Creator of all that is: the person (consciously or subconsciously) is assigning Gods attributes (omnipresent, omniscience, omnipotence) to that object of affection: so by default making that object an idol or a god.

Whether the person calls the object (s) of worship/adoration an idol or god or not, they’ve made that object (s) a god by their deeds, despite a conflicting verbal refutation of the former.

  • You shall have NO other gods before Me.”
  • “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God……”Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Acts 17:29
  • “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2:5
  • “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Once indoctrinated ….. but now free.

Once indoctrinated ….. but now free.

Religious indoctrination, the original sense of indoctrination, refers to a process of imparting doctrine in an authoritative way, as in catechism.  I am certain my parents were doing what they thought was best, doing what their parents taught them, and what their parents, parents taught them and so on and so on, handing down a set of cultural and traditional belief systems through the generations.

Those (aberrant) belief systems are what God calls doctrines of men, traditions of men, and doctrines of demons.

God loves all people and wants them to come to a SAVING knowledge of His son Jesus Christ.

In Revelation and also Deuteronomy when we are told do not add or take from the words of this book/law/word. (Jesus Christ is the Word made Flesh John 1:14) All cults have one major factor in common, that is, they will assault Jesus’ Deity in some way. Walter Martin defined cultism as “…any major deviation from orthodox Christianity relative to the cardinal doctrines of the Christian faith.”

Soteriology: The Work of Christ on the Cross is another area cults will attack.

The Bible states that man’s acceptance with God is based entirely on Christ’s work on the cross, completely apart from man’s works for God (Gal. 2:16,21; Rom. 3:19-26). Because of this, man receives God’s acceptance as a free gift by faith alone (Eph. 2:8,9). Though saving faith is evidenced by works in the life of the believer (James. 2:16-24), they are regarded as the fruit of salvation (Gal. 5:22,23), not as the basis for it. Cults generally attack the full sufficiency of Christ’s work on the cross and thus make salvation dependent finally upon man’s works for God.

Literally yes as in another “bible”

  • The Book of Mormon
  • The Watchtower
  • The Vatican / catechism & title vicar of Christ

Mormonism/JW’s (and some sects of Seventh Day Adventists and in many respects roman catholicism are the- modern day Judaizers ) clearly take away from Christ’s deity.

The official teachings of Rome (Vatican II /catechism) add to Christ’s deity by elevating Mary to co-redemptive / mediatrix—not to mention praying to her or any deceased person is necromancy, an abomination according to God, not according to the Maccabees, but according to God Almighty, Gods Word.

There is no biblical support (according to God) for Mary having any redemptive role in salvation found in Jesus Christ alone, nor does she have a special role in any church, no such thing found according to God’s Word. Mary was a sinful human being who needed Jesus Christ as her Savior, just like everyone else according to scripture (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 6:23; 1 John 1:8). Luke 1:46-47 “And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” The pope replacing Christ (aka taking the title of Vicar of Christ) The biblical “Vicar of Christ” is the Holy Spirit John 14:26 according to Scripture.

So therefore like Paul said this (biblically according to God) constitutes another gospel another jesus & like Paul said (Galatians 1:6-9)

Dave Hunt from The Berean Call answers a question:

Question: “I have read and profited from your excellent book, “A Woman Rides the Beast”…And yet, 1 John 4 gives us a scriptural “litmus test” for recognizing the difference between the Spirit of God and the spirit of Antichrist. To the best of my understanding, the Roman Catholic Church does emphatically teach and confess the truth of this doctrine [that “Jesus Christ is come in the flesh”] as distinguished from the many pseudo Christian cults which explicitly deny it. If that is the case, then doesn’t it follow that the Spirit of God must still be speaking in some fashion through the Roman Catholic Church, and that it cannot be considered completely apostate?

Answer: Thank you for your encouraging remarks concerning “A Woman Rides the Beast.” I don’t understand, however, what you mean by “completely apostate.” Apostate is apostate. If a church preaches a false gospel that damns the soul (as Catholicism, like Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons, does) is it any consolation that it does affirm some truth (as all three do)? Obviously not. A false gospel that damns the soul is a false gospel that damns the soul even if some elements of it may be biblical.

Does the Roman Catholic Church pass the test of 1 John 4, “every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God,” and therefore “cannot be considered completely apostate”? No. The English “is come” in the King James follows the Greek construction, which means “came once for all time.” The body that Jesus took when He “was made flesh, and dwelt among us” (Jn 1: 14) was resurrected and He still occupies that body in glory, and will forever.

This fact obviously eliminates reincarnation. It also eliminates the Roman Catholic Mass. In that alleged “sacrifice” it is claimed that Christ comes again and again “in flesh” through priests turning wafers into Jesus Christ, whole and entire, body, soul, spirit and divinity, to be ingested into the stomachs of the faithful for the forgiveness of their sins.

Furthermore, even if the Roman Catholic Church passed this test, that would not mean that she preaches the true gospel of Jesus Christ, which, of course, she does not. First John 4 does not say that to confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh means that everything else this person or group may say is therefore also of God. Balaam said much that was from God, even giving valid prophecies, but he also said much not from God and is in hell today.

Yes, Roman Catholicism does teach some truth: that Jesus is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, died for our sins on the cross, rose the third day and is coming again. Yet even the truth which it teaches it perverts: Mary is the immaculately conceived, ever virgin “mother of God,” Jesus is still dying in the sacrifice of the Mass, and His death upon the cross nearly 2,000 years ago was not sufficient to save but He must be “immolated” perpetually on Catholic altars, and ingested into one’s stomach to provide increments of salvation. Such teachings constitute “another gospel” and warrant Paul’s anathema (Gal:1:6-9).”

The Shack is theology wrapped in a story.

THE SHACK

I personally know many ‘pastors’ and ‘leaders’ who have embraced this book (movie) The Shack and actually continue to promote it to their congregations. I hope this authors newer work will open peoples eyes who have been seduced by The Shack and it’s universalist author Paul Young. Especially the leaders who should be protecting the sheep and not leaving the gates of the pastures open to wolves. How beautiful is the truth that even this blasphemy against Christ Himself, Christ says one can still be forgiven and have eternal life in Him…. that is mercy, that is love! (Matthew 12:30-32)

The Shack and its’ deceptive message:

When People Say, “But The Shack is Just a Novel!”

THESHACK

“Shack Author: Now Jesus is Pregnant with Adam Paul Young, author of The Shack, Eve, and The Lies We Believe About God, is pulling many away from the Savior and the Word of God. His Mother Goddess is only one of many theological problems he presents via his books and appearances.] [Following the release of Paul Young book Eve], Don Veinot of Midwest Christian Outreach intervewed James B. DeYoung, the author of Burning Down The Shack and The Lies Paul Young Believes About God. DeYoung was friends with The Shack author Paul Young, and was one of the first to learn that Paul Young had rejected the biblical God. He is a semi-retired seminary professor. The interview segment below is transcribed from the video…It lasts two minutes or so. Here DeYoung speaks of Paul Young’s book, Eve. Please note how Young, once again misinterpreting the meaning of El Shaddai, spews forth a mutated version of Christ. Here is the brief, transcribed portion of the video. Professor James B. DeYoung is speaking, starting at 31 minutes and 32 seconds: 31:32 Eve is Paul Young’s novel dealing with rewriting Genesis chapters one, two, and three, the story of Creation, and then the making of Adam and Eve. And the way that in Paul Young’s view that Adam and Eve came into being is that the Earth Man, who is Jesus Christ becomes pregnant with Adam, and after nine months gives birth to Adam, and then after Adam becomes pregnant with Eve, Adam gives birth to her after nine months… …and both of these infants at that time, immediately after birth, nurse at Jesus’ breasts. That to me is almost shameful for me to say that kind of thing, but I relate that because I think that Paul Young is imbibing at the drink of pagan mythology, myths that were in vogue in the Canaanite…” Read more here: http://ow.ly/KZpy50vaFje

Art Designer of  “The Shack” Book Cover Says He Regrets His Involvement:

“I look back and see how little discernment I had. And I regret and apologize also for waiting this long to publicly share this,” he writes.

He says the problem is that the book advocated for universal reconciliation or universal salvation, a doctrine that claims that since Jesus died for all, then all are saved, whether they believe it and receive Him personally or not.

Aldrich says this is a grave distortion of John 3:16.

He goes on to say that John 3:18 makes Jesus’ purpose clear:

He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

The Emerging Church….. and its sympathizers.

The Emerging Church….. and its sympathizers.

There is an elephant in the room.. it’s called the “Emergent/Emerging Church” (Postmodernism/Emergent-Liberalism)…. what is it?

It is deception by reidentification is what it is. “Hath God said” …. Genesis 3:1

The emergent church – we have some ‘leaders’ in that.

Just a few here:

  • Rick Warren
  • Dallas Willard
  • Dan Kimball
  • Andy Stanley

All of the above names,  an influential Christian youth apologist leader Sean McDowell has defended and /or given and receiving accolades to or from.

 Sean praises Dallas Willard

 Who is Dallas Willard?

Sean receives / gives accolades to Dan Kimball Calling him “insightful” —Praising Dan Kimball

Who is Dan Kimball and why is he accepting endorsements from Rick Warren from Rick Warren?  Who is Dan Kimball?

Rick Warren and the purpose driven “lie”

More Rick Warren

Yet, more Rick Warren

Why is Sean McDowell preaching at saddleback church  Rick Warrens church and then again in May 2019 preaching at Rick Warrens sister church?

Sean McDowell ‘defends’ Andy Stanley regarding Andy Stanleys comments to unhitch  from the Old Testament” – Sean states “Andy Stanley has a remarkable history of preaching the gospel, being faithful to scriptures.”

🚨 ⁉️ Pause here for a moment, Andy Stanley has called himself an “apologist” or offers “apologetics” so tell me … how does one contend /defend the Word of God if one doesn’t hold to its inerrancy & authority to begin with 🚨 ⁉️

Andy Stanley “is remarkable at being faithful to scripture.”

One cannot be faithful and deny the Word of God at the same time.

Andy Stanley promotes Enneagram after Sean praised his preaching if he is so “remarkable” at preaching the gospel?

 What is the enneagram anyway?

So the question needs to be asked, of a rising leader (SeanMcDowell) who has a great influence over the youth– does he know what he’s aligned with?  I have reached out to him, his colleagues, and Biola University, and no reply. He doesn’t appear to refute emergent teaching in his own blog post.

Biblical discernment is practically obsolete in the body of Christ and certainly wherever there is false teaching, anyone with discernment won’t be welcomed for long.

🚨 Be alert 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

🚨 Matthew 7:13-14 Enter through the narrow gate for wide is the gate and broad the way leading to destruction, and many are those entering through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it.

🚨 The great apostasy being fulfilled 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

If they do not repent they are sure to hear on that Day:

Jesus will say “And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”
